Hey guys I'm still here!!

Wooo it's been a minute since I've blogged about anything...Lots have been taking place. But to be honest I'm not that big of a writer..but imma try. For the upcoming year 2011, my focus will be more on the Wedding industry. I find that I feel really fulfilled being apart of someones big day and helping to make it special for them by creating an even more beautiful 'them'. They'll have those photo's forever and i'll be apart of their history. Plus I'm finding the commercial aspect of this business just a tad bit cut throat and clique-ish. I'm not the biggest ass kisser, socialite or hater....and I'm finding that in this small country Jamaica you have to rub shoulders with the who's who or hate on others to emphasize your abilities. NOT ME. I love my job and my work should speak for itself. And yes networking is good, but doggone it..I'm not that big a partier anymore. Catch me at the beach, intimate settings, sipping some Red wine and just taking life easy!

Anyway peeps stay tuned for lots more, I just did a web page on Wix.com.....I designed it from scratch and I love it!! Check it out and give me your feedback on any improvements. Here it is http://www.wix.com/mirabelbeauty/lookbook

Skin Care Tips

This weeks tip is about Skin Care. It is very important to take care of the skin, especially for those of us who wear makeup.

I have listed each skin type:

  • Dry Skin (Dull or ashy, tends to be flaky, it can feel and look tight during winter and summer months)

Cleanser : use a creamy formula that contains Glycerin or less than 10% lactic acid.

Toners aren't necessary for dry skin, but, if you do use one make sure that it is gentle Witch Hazel is good.

Moisturizer: use a rich, creamy moisturizer labeled for dry skin.

Sunscreen of SPF 15 - 30.

  • Oily Skin (prone to breakouts, especially during summer when the sebaceous glands are more active. Visible pores and surface shine).

Cleanser: use a Gel or foaming cleanser that contains Salicylic acid.

Try using a toner first, however I have found that astringents work better for oily skin types.

Moisturizer: use one that is OIL-FREE, preferably one that is unscented and free of lanolin or mineral oil.

Sunscreen of SPF 15 -30.

  • Combination Skin (Oily in the T-zone area with dry patches on the cheeks, prone to break out in summer when the sebaceous glands become more active)

Cleanser: use Gel or Foaming cleansers for normal to dry skin.

Toners can be used or alcohol based products on the oily areas only.

Moisturizer: use an Oil-free moisturizer or combination-skin moisturizer.

Sunscreen with SPF of 30.

  • Sensitive Skin (easily affected by environmental factors, fragrances and artificial ingredients in skin care products. Prone to eczema, heat rash, sunburn and irritation)

Cleanser- use a fragrance free facial soap or cleanser formulated for sensitive skin.

For Toner use Witch Hazel, however sensitive skin does not require its use.

Moisturizer- use a hypoallergenic moisturizer for sensitive skin.

Sunscreen of SPF 15-45, preferably fragrance free labeled for sensitive skin.

*Apart from these Tips, take into consideration your diet. Fresh fruits and veggies are good. Drink lots and lots of water. Vitamin B complex is good too B1, B2, B3,B5,B6 and B12. Vitamins C and E are also great for healthy skin, among other benefits.

I hope this helped, take care until next time.
